Fall Thursday Hike & Ramble Information
For Walks, Hikes, and Rambles between the months of September and November

Thursday Hikes

For hikers of intermediate ability, all within about 2 hours drive from Lake Oswego. Hikers leave at 8a (earlier times are noted below). New participants arrive 15 minutes early. Return depends on hiking and driving distance.

 

Thursday Rambles

A more leisurely-paced hike, great for beginning hikers! 5-7 miles with comfortable elevation gains and good trail conditions. Leaves promptly at 8:30a.

 

Where to meet

Meet at City of Lake Oswego’s WEST END BUILDING, 4101 Kruse Way. Park in back of building in the lower parking lot.

 

What to bring

Day pack containing lunch, water, sun protection, rain gear, and extra clothing (i.e., warm sweater, cap, gloves).

 

What to wear

Clothes suitable for weather conditions. Sturdy, lug-soled, waterproof walking shoes/boots.

 

Car Pooling & Fees

Arranged among participants. Driver donation noted with each hike; bridge tolls shared by all. All mileage is round trip. $1 LO Rec fee payable at hike.

 

Information

Hikes/rambles are not canceled due to rain, but leaders may change location if driving/hiking conditions are hazardous. Leaders may refuse to take anyone not properly equipped or who is determined to be incapable of making a specific trip. Participants accept responsibility for their personal safety. No pets permitted.

 

Park Passes

Northwest Forest Pass (NWFP) may be required for each vehicle at selected trailheads in National Forests. Drivers are responsible for obtaining passes prior to hike. State Park Pass (SPP) available at trailhead.

1st pickup location is ALWAYS at City of Lake Oswego’s West End Building, 4101 Kruse Way 

 

2nd pickup Locations:

 

AWHD    Airport Way Home Depot. Exit 24 off I-205N; park in SW

            corner of parking lot. +30min.

CFM      Clackamas Fred Meyer north parking lot, near Elmer's

            Pancake House, Exit 12-A off I-205. + 30 min.      

EOT        End of the Trail Interpretive Center, Exit 10 off I-205, right onto Washingto St. to parking lot with covered wagons. + 30 min.

JBC       Jantzen Beach Center, SW corner of Office Depot parking

            lot. Exit 308 off 1-5, turn west, +30min.

L&C      Lewis and Clark State Park, Exit 18 off I-84. +45 min.

MHNFC  Mt. Hood National Forest Center 16400 Champion Way off

            Hwy 26 in Sandy. Right on 352nd, Right on Industrial,

            Right on Champion. +45 min.

SPS       Sunset Plaza Safeway, NW Murray Rd. at Cornell Rd. Exit 67 off US 26W. + 30 min.

TW        Tualatin Wendy’s back lot, Exit 289 off I-5. + 15 min.
